The Better Food Company have an 11 acre field along the road from us in Denny Lanewhere they are growing the most amazing selection of organic produce. This is now also available at Tunbridge Mill every Saturday morning between 10am to 12 noon, or you can sign up for one of their veg boxes.
Local supliers of Fair Trade products will soon be offering their goods at Tunbridge Mill on a Saturday morning.
If you are involved in a local organisation, charity or community group, you may like to shout about your project on one of our new notice boards in The Shed @ Tunbridge Mill. This new space will provide a long term noticeboard area for community groups, local businesses and services for local people. You can secure your space by emailing Denise on denise.perrin@target80.org and you will be able to keep this space for posting updates, tell the story behind your group and advertise events. Funded by a grant from "O2 It's Your Community" this space will be used for workshops, informal gatherings and educational opportunities
Target 80 has been awarded £10,000 by The Big Lottery to set up The Target 80 Energy Information Centre at Tunbridge Mill.
The Citizens Advice Bereau are now available at Tunbridge Mill every Friday morning between 10am and 12 noon. This is a drop-in service so no need to make an appointment. If you would like to talk to someone outside of these times we also have a dedicated number: 0845-6035452. This professional advice service is confidential and free.
Target 80 is working in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Energy to ensure that more people get help with insulating lofts and cavity walls. Funding has been provided by Scottish & Southern Energy and with additional support from North Somerset Council and Bath & North East Somerset Council. Grants are now available for priority groups who are in receipt of benefits or over the age of 70. Other homeowners may qualify for grants that will reduce costs of the work to be done and that in turn will bring down fuel bills. Please call 01275-333430 for a referral.
The Valley Greenspace is looking to recruit new volunteers to help keep the community office open on a regular basis. If you have some time available to give to the project we can promise you an interesting time over the coming months as we add more services and slowly bring Tunbridge Mill back to life. Are you interested in becoming part of our Community Carbon Reduction Team? Training will be given to volunteers who meet the criteria for becoming an Energy Assessor.
